To the Players of the Tuesday Pool League

This is to inform you that i have resigned as the Tuesday Secretary

Before i give my reasons i would like to thank the chairman Del Underwood and everyone else who has helped me over the last 2 seasons as well as the players for turning up week in, week out otherwise there wouldnt be a league in the first place.

The first reason why i am quiting is over my handling of the Champion of Champions single place.

The league entered 2 teams into the national CoC event which also comes with 2 mens singles entries and 2 ladies entries. Due to Emma Cunningham(r-up) wanting to enter the ladies event rather than the mens we had a spare slot to fill to enter along side Dave Minister. The plan for this spare slot was to have a playoff between the players in the ballbags and franchise who potentially will be at the finals. we didnt get round to doing this and after myself speaking to Stuart Douglas I put my name forward for this space.. THIS WAS WRONG.. as Jamie McGauley won the previous years singles title he should have gone through instead of me.. at the begining of the year Jamie had reminded me to put him in however i did genuinely forget and getting wrapped up in the moment thinking i could be in this, i sent off the forms.
I contacted the organisers to rectify the mistake but they refused his entry, after apologising many times to Jamie and he agreeing, i played in the event (losing in the Qualifiers anyways).

I abused my position as secretary and i would like to apologise again to Jamie and everyone else for doing this.

the second reason is the situation with ballbags and the suspension of Matt Sullivan and the 2 point penalty

As far as I am concerned this has been dealt with, it wasnt a tuesday league issue and as a committee we just followed instructions from the county.


With the constant petty name calling & slagging off in recent months at county matches, pool matches and social network sites, i just cant be bothered any more. being secretary isnt a paid position and i only took over the league because no one else would. im not sure if im going to carry on playing in the league next season but i would like to wish whoever takes over good luck next season


Again i would like to apologise for abusing my position and to Jamie in particular and again would like to thank everyone for the support..
