INTERLEAGUE KO CUP 2011-05-31

This report is in two parts, first the good part:

Four teams attended shootpool in Aylesbury, with Amersham stating they wish to play in the league but cannot raise a team for the cup.
The draw pitted Buckingham against Milton Keynes and the two Aylesbury teams together in the round robin format.

Mk a cruised to a 7-2 lead against buckinghams 7 players there two winners being jody willers and sam Paxton, in the second session mk ran the first three racks to win the match 10-2.

The aylesbury?s match was a similar tale with Aylesbury A leading 7-2 after the first session and winning the second 3-2 to get to the 10-4 scoreline, noteable results being scott simpson beating keith jones and sarah Wilkins beating neil goodyear.

Next up was Aylesbury B against Buckingham and it proved a close match with Aylesbury leading 5-4 after the first session and it going to 8-8 and with Buckingham giving the last frame due to player shortage ray walters had to beat Richard herring to take the match to a three frame playoff, unfortunately ray lost so 10-8 to Aylesbury.

Aylesbury A v mk A was always going to be a close game and so it proved ? in the end! Mk winning the last 4 frames to lead 6-3 half way. Nick timms won the next to give mk a 7-3 lead only for Aylesbury to win the next 5 and lead 8-7. Matt Sullivan and nick Bowden won the next two to leave Aylesbury needing to win the last to go to a playoff. Graham jones took advantage of ken riddell?s missed chances to win and force the tie.

The playoff was over quickly with keith jones and neil goodyear winning to render the third frame meaningless. 10-9 to Aylesbury.

Next matches were Aylesbury A v Buckingham and Aylesbury B v mk A unfortunately neither finished due to an incident occurring.

Nick timms 3 wins from 3 and nick Bowden 2 from 2
Aylesbury B
Dan Wilkins 3 from 4 and chris eley 2 from 3

A good day spoilt at the end by the actions of a few players.
