New Season - Is it time for a change?
whatafcukinliberty
bottom line is that you all have a choice and so can choose what ever you prefer...
cops and who???

JammyJim
If you have a division of blackball and a division of world rules there would be No point in promotion/relegation.... If you want both sets of rules on the same evening it would need to be two separate leagues.
Stupid game anyway!!!

Just to inform everyone, i will be continueing to run the league on a Tuesday night. I will be arranging a agm in the near furture and everyone will be invited to attend. I will be opening posistions up on the committee, in which i already have people interested. This league will remain a world rules league as far as i am concerened. This matter can be discussed at the agm if you wish

Thanks

Nick

Nick, I thought you was quitting and taking time out from pool; have you come out of retirement to save the league? Smile Stuart and I was proposing Blackball league if there was no one to run the WR league, not to cause animosity but offer an alternative. I appreciate that as far as you are concerned the league will remain a worlds rule league which sounds like dictatorship to me and should be a vote at the AGM for the players to decide, but in one respect you are correct the MKTPL will remain a world rules league because if it changed to Blackball we would rename the league.
Whilst it has been acknowledged that 2 different leagues on the same name is not ideal, if there are enough players interested I would consider running a Blackball league on Tuesday evenings regardless of whether the MKTPL continues or folds. This is nothing personal against, you or any other individual or the league or world rules but I and there are other players who would like to play Blackball. We are not anti WR and do play them.
Look forward to the AGM, is there a likely date?
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition

You say it sounds like a dictatorship but in a earlier post Stu says "we will only want a blackball league" which sounds pretty similar to meYes

You don't hear tone of voice when debating on here so it will be good at the AGM to get everybody's ideas in the same roomThumbs Up

Correct I cannot hear any tone of voice...and Stu "we will only want a blackball league" is referring to that is what we will run, if it is to remain as WR we will not want to be part of running it. So if there was no interest in BB then we wouldn't start running one. If there was a BB League would you want to be part of running it?

Like both, Stu and I have said, 'It's an option' and one we put out there when all the current committee was resigning. But now we have made our proposal known it's amazing how quickly resignations are withdrawn and new committee members in the pipeline.

As previously said, 'it's nothing personal' and I don't wish to make it so. We proposed it when it looked like the MKTPL was looking likely to fold and we offered this option that we are prepared to undertake and keep people playing pool.

There is enough politics between the two rulesets, lets not bring this into our own leagues. Look forward to the AGM.

Jimmy, don't be an eejit....
We are saying that if we were to run a league then we would only want to run a blackball league as EPA does not interest me at all

so you mean if the poll said stay at W/R you will run the league in BB regardless or will you pull out of running it ??

whatafcukinliberty
This is not hard to understand, the league looked like it was going to fold.
I have no interest in running epa league.
If tuesday pool was in danger of going then rather than have nothing, we would have OFFERED to run a blackball league.
Everyone is free to choose what they like...
The poll is there to do what polls are for, a consensus of opinion..
feck me, this is hard work
cops and who???

The poll is not there for any purpose other than just to see some numbers, as you know as well as we do not everyone goes on this site.
We are not being underhanded about things, what is it that some people cannot grasp?, we made the proposal on the back of the current MKTPL committee members resigning so thought that if it was going to fold we would keep players playing by offering an alternative but myself and Stuart are only prepared to run a Blackball league, why would we want to run a WR league when we prefer Blackball?
If the MKTPL continues, which would be great news, I would still consider running a BB league if there was enough interest.
It seems to me that some people are more interested in keeping the WR league going to prevent a BB league starting. I'm one of many players that prefer BB but am happy to play both and not get caught up in the politics of pool.

Stu and I are not stopping or trying to hinder the continuation of MKTPL as a world rules league, so please have the same courtesy and respect for others that make alternative proposals. We've put another option out there, we are not that naive to think everyone will like the option but it is an option. If you are one of the players who wants MKTPL to stay WR that's fine but you would be better spending your time working towards that rather than focusing on what we are doing regarding a Blackball league.

As stu stated earlier 'fact is that world rules is there for the few that are interested in county, yarmouth etc... the majority want a league that is much more open and ran with efficiency. Auto update tables and rankings, better comps, no deliberate fouls.
For years a lot of you that may protest about this have been protesting about how the league has ran, who runs it, lack of competition...
Maria and I are not out to spoil anyones fun, just giving you all options...
Everything is voluntary so we are suggesting this to revamp an otherwise failing league'
